Ben flipping a car at a strongman competitionBen’s life has revolved around sport for almost two decades. A passion for all things physical started at a very early age – Ben was selected to play football for Oxfordshire at primary school and has been a member of Oxford City Athletics Club since the age of nine.
In more recent years, Ben has specialised in strength based sports, he represented England as an under 23 discus thrower, has been a member of his local rugby team for over 10 years and most recently achieved success in the sport of strongman. Ben currently holds the titles of England’s and Britain’s Strongest Man under 105KG and Britain’s Natural Strongest Man (open weight) along with numerous other accolades, such as finishing 4th in 2010′s World Natural Strongman competition in Hungary.
Ben works as a full-time firefighter for Oxfordshire fire service, a responsibilty he has held for five years. As well as fighting fires and rescuing cats, Ben works as a fitness adviser for the fireservice.
Ben is a REPs Level 3 qualified personal trainer, with extensive knowledge in powerlfting, olympic weightlifting and plyometrics. He is also a qualified athletics coach and a trained first aider.
